Lo abbiamo visto già al DevCon Americas nel 2011, ne hanno parlato anche al DevCon Asia nel mese di dicembre dello stesso anno. Ieri, 7 febbraio 2012 Alec Saunders, vicepresidente del settore sviluppo ed ecosistema di RIM, ce ne ha parlato nuovamente. Ma cosa è BlackBerry Jam? BlackBerry Jam è una piattaforma multimediale al quale tutti gli sviluppatori di BlackBerry possono accedere, condividere, aiutarsi, confrontarsi sulla creazione di applicazioni per dispositivi RIM.
Nel 2011 in USA nasceva questo progetto, introducendo però solamente alcune features permettendo l’accesso alla piattaforma web di Jam con un solo ID. Non era necessaria la registrazione delle nostre informazioni personali ed era completamente open source permettendo ai programmatori la realizzazione di programmi per smartphone.
Oggi invece Alec Saunders ci ha svelato anche altri sviluppi di questa “Developer Network” che comunque continuerà ad essere centrale nel futuro di RIM. Le tecnologie di sviluppo sono svariate: nativa, Html5, Android, AIR e Java.
Durante la prima giornate del DevCon Europe c’è stato anche il momento della premiazione per alcuni sviluppatori tra i quali, all’interno del BlackBerry Jam Rewards, la categoria Most Addictive Social App. Come migliore utilizzatore di BlackBerry Messenger il premio è andato agli sviluppatori della multipiattforma Wikitude. Inoltre sono stati premiati gli sviluppatori dell’applicazione N-TV Nachrichten PlayBook (Lineas) come Best Adobe Flash/Air App e per ultimo come miglior App per PlayBook e smartphone OS6 con tecnologia WebWorks è stata premiata Daily Express Uk di Refresh Mobile Ltd. Vi segnaliamo infine con estremo piacere che nella categoria della Most Useful Enterprise Application al BlackBerry Developer Challenge, ha trionfato l’italiana Gulliver con MDC Mobile Data Collection.
Il vicepresidente ha fatto intendere che gli sviluppatori che hanno creduto nella piattaforma hanno già raggiunto ottimi profitti, come abbiamo già riportato qui, e con l’ uscita di PlayBook 2.0 e in successione BlackBerry 10, è prevedibile che l’eccellenza italiana possa concentrarsi anche su questa piattaforma e creare progetti molto interessanti per mettere in produzione applicazioni sempre più importanti e funzionali.
Questo progetto vanta anche partnership con molte aziende in ambito informatico, di un forum di sviluppatori all’interno del quale potremo registrare un gruppo oppure potremo confrontarci con altri, ovviamente avendo la possibilità di scaricare tutti i tools per metterci al lavoro.

Winners of the three 2011 BlackBerry Partners Fund Developer Challenge competitions were announced in September and October along with the Recognition Awards winners for North America and Latin America. All were recognized at the 2011 BlackBerry Developer Conference (DevCon) in San Francisco.
